![]() Enjoy working with my hubby, but countdown has begun bc he goes back to his regular job in April. We can handle it, we can handle anything that we tackle as a team & I'm thankful I can say that. So it's gonna be a few more hrs also but that's prolly not an issue I'm sure. Was actually working this morning & for our first day, I can truthfully say I def stressed way too much over it bc it was totally not like I expected & I had fun & am ready to see how the next time is gonna go, it's lil different from today as today was lady topper game & next is hilltoppers so I expect it to be quite a bit more as far as crowd & we stay the whole time to direct them out afterwards as well. I highly recommend the mining bags or buckets kiddos get to pan for treasure (gemstones shark teeth and geodes) outside of the gift shop and ours loved that experienced. I was unsure if our daughter would enjoy it or be entertained long enough to sit still for the tour but she did fine. ![]() Just a note our kids are 9 and 2.5 and it was perfect for them. If you are visiting when it is cooler be sure to bring a jacket you do have to walk outside some and will want a jacket. Really all the staff from the gift shop to the guides are super friendly and helpful. The tour guides do an amazing job and know a lot of history about the cave and area which I enjoyed. I was able to get a discount on the kids mining buckets which they loved! And you also receive a coupon for the gift shop. I purchased our tickets online and there are a few benefits of that. It is just a short 45 minute drive from Nashville and well worth it. This was our sons favorite part of vacation. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Nashville. We had so much fun on our visit to Lost River Cave. Overall, it was a good way to waste a few hours of my day, enjoyably.Īlso, I met two awesome folks from PA during the tour and got my picture with them, however I forgot their names, if you two guys are reading this, feel free to follow me on here and I'll try and find a way to get in touch! There's "Wine Tasting" but no one was in there when I went in so, can't give you details on that, sorry! The gift shop was mediocre, mainly books about stuff other than the president. But it was a very nice day out so walking around and looking at old buildings was kind of relaxing.Īs for what there is to look at, it's mainly Andrew Jackson's house with a few buildings you can walk into but there's not much in them and they're very small, I believe they have an event we're they play some older sport. The price, in my opinion, was hefty for a little piece of history, coming in at $24 per adult. The walk around the whole area was pleasant, and there's even a horse carriage ride you can take, don't know if you have to pay as I didn't take it. The tour was straight to the point, didn't take forever either, maybe 30 minutes. A gas station for basics is right outside the park, and there is a Dollar general down the road and further down the road is a Walmart Staff was super friendly at check in and purchasing firewood at the gift shop/check in office. ![]() Heavy ranger presence at the parks, which I was surprised by- but thankful for. We did not use this amenity, but it’s great to know for future!Ī few playgrounds, a few trails, lots of nature! There is a spot to do laundry here if you’re a camper. ![]() The showers (at least in the ladies restroom at campground 1) did not have a shower curtain but if you hang your stuff on the hooks your things should stay dry. Cabins are offered here too.īathrooms were clean. **PET FRIENDLY**Ĭampground 1 sites are closer together than campground 2 & 3’s. Price was great and you had an option to round up your cost to donate to the park. Online reservations for booking a campsite was easy. ![]() Overall we really enjoyed Cedars of Lebanon and we will definitely be back in the near future.įirst time camping here. There are deer everywhere and all kinds of other wildlife. Best advice- put it in the farthest corner near the door and if you have a trash bag put it over your stuff. The only issue is there is no curtain or partition to keep your clothes and toiletries bag from getting wet. There are showers on site and while they aren't perfect, the water gets nice and hot and they are spacious. For any grocery needs there is a very well stocked dollar general less than a mile up the road, and an Aldis not far away. There are several parks with swings, slides, and jungle gyms which was a big deal for my 4 year old. Firewood is easily accessible at the store and very affordable. It was the first weekend that the weather started getting really cool at night so we really enjoyed the campfire. We stayed in a camper in campsite 3 on one of the more private lots. We stayed here in early October with family and friends and it was a perfect long weekend. ![]()
